" in Flanders Fields the poppies grow... " as we hear the sad poem of soldiers dying for our rights, we remember the war, the blood, and the brave men and women who went over to fight for our freedom. It's sad to think we had to fight twice (ww1 and 2) just to gain what was supposed to be ours already. My grandma and grandpa ( my mom's parents- both) went and fought with Japan. They didn't die from the war, but when my mom was growing up she didn't have her parents. She was 8 at the time. Her sister was in university, and she had to take care of herself. It's not like her brothers are any help! I don't actually know much about my grandparents( they died before i was born) and my mom don't like to talk too much about them. I did see some pictures of them in china, in their military uniforms. My mom hates Japan now.
Today soldiers are over in afghanistan, people worrying about them. This is a chance to remember. Remembrance Day. :)
